just a practice session at kiteboarding - gradually got to grips with it and towards the end of the session i was getting some decent length tacks back and forth, but as time went by the wind started to drop and i was unable to regain ground upwind again. A bit disappointing towards the end since i'd got used to it by then, but at the same time i'm chuffed i can handle a fair gust on the board now!

perhaps some jumps next time!

quite an enjoyable afternoon really - the beach was empty - well nobody was kiting apart from a 3 yr old with a dodgy single liner, and i was on my own so i could be completely selfish and not share my kite!

i think i saw al on his way to the beach about 16:15 ish, somebody in a van similar to his was heading that direction anyway! i was in two minds as to turn round or not... but having just packed all the kit into the car i hadn't the energy to get it all back out again!
